Cleaned by the Water of Life

Cleansing Waters

TEXT: Ex. 25:8 Let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them.

Pillar of Light: Presence of Jesus
PROPHECY: Pillar of Light also a future prophecy for us

Isaiah 4:5 & 6  And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory [shall be] a defence.  Isaiah 4:6   And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.
Revelation 10:1 Jesus in cloud with rainbow above His head. This is the same symbol of the rainbow.
Though Jesus is not visible, He is very close listening to all that we say and all that we do. He loves us with an intensity we have never seen in any human relationship. He will do anything for you that you ask for if it is best. You are extremely valuable. He gave His life so that you could live for eternity in a place that has no sickness, disease, rejection, fighting, or violence of any type. The peace and love in His heaven home is difficult to imagine but it is all true.
He whom their soul loveth, walks, invisible, beside them. Amazing Grace 264
He watches how you are treated. He or she that receives you receives Jesus Himself. He says so in Mathew 10:40. He gave one big example of this in 2 Kings 8 when the woman of Shunem provided a room for Elisha, God was still blessing her more than 8 years after the event by causing the king to want to hear historical events in the life of Elisha. The leper, Gehazi, the has been servant full of leprosy to the end of his own life was called to speak to the king. Since lepers are not allowed close to humans, he must have been shouting out the story of the woman of Shunam from his place outside the city when the lady herself was on her way to ask for her land back.  God had warned her of the seven years of famine, she had lived safely in the land of the Philistines where people were not eating their own children to survive. When famine was over she found someone had taken her land and she went to get it back by pleading with the king. The king had been stirred to ask about Elisha. At that very moment He was prepared as he listened to her kindness to the prophet. Who would stir him but the king.

Always remember God has the power to turn hearts of kings or rulers or house holds where someone is blocking your working for God. Look at the promise in Proverbs 21: 1

21:1   The king's heart [is] in the hand of the LORD, [as] the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
SANCTUARY
Look at the courtyard of the sanctuary

The gate being toward the EAST had the colors of such as was in the ceiling and veils of the sanctuary. The red represents the blood of Jesus, the blue the law of God. The purple is a mixture of blue and red. When you mix the law in it’s strict requirements which describes the character of God and you mix in the willing sacrifice of Jesus to pay the price for us, we see MERCY.  The mercy of Jesus is symbolized in the color Purple. Kings wore this color. Royalty wear this color. The altar of sacrifice was covered with this color when it was transported. Also the robe thrown onto Jesus at the time of his torment in the hall of a king was a purple robe. It was a worn out one though. Jesus was to be ashamed by having the old purple robe on Him but little did they realize the symbol was amazingly prophetic. The king of all the universe was dying for the sins of those striking Him and for all of us later who would strike Him by our own criticism of others.   The leaders of the church of that time were causing His destruction and inspiring all the hatred possible to be heaped on the King of the Universe.

Purple has both meanings in it of His kingship and His mercy in dying for us who definitely do not deserve such mercy and kindness.

Color Code Texts

Blue: Exodus 24:9-10 they saw God and under His feet it looked like sapphire stone that was blue as the sky.

Numbers 15:38-41 ribbon of blue on borders. “And it shall be …that you may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them;

Revelation 21:19 The foundations of the wall of the holy city were of precious stones. The first was Jasper, the second, sapphire: the third chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald.

“In like manner He had established His law, the foundation of His government in heaven and upon earth.” GC 66
Purple: •John 19:2 The soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on His head, and they put on him a purple robe…

To mock Jesus, they put an old purple kings robe on Him. Then they called him “King of the Jews”

There is a great painting done by a man incarcerated for his faith in Jesus. He was a pastor. He painted so many pictures that describe the humiliation that is felt by those suffering persecution. Amazingly enough, while I was threatened by death at knife point in India, I had the humiliation feeling and then remembered my Jesus suffered much greater humiliation. No one stripped my clothes from me and put old ugly robes on me as they did my MASTER and my King Jesus. It is a privilege to suffer in order to bring Him honor and glory by the attitude we conduct ourselves. Also by the words He gives us to speak, we can bring people to turn to God. God promises to choose our words for us. Look at the following references and examples:

  1. Purple raiment was worn by the kings of Midian. (Judges 8:26)

  2. The kings and princes wore purple. (Esther 8:15)

3.      Making idols with silver from Tarshish, gold from Uphaz, and purple is their clothing (Jeremiah 10:1-9)

4.      Purple was the color of the clothing of kings and princes and was even put on idols or gods. We see further meaning at the trial of Jesus. Pilate asked Jesus the question in John 18:37 “Art thou a king?” Then Jesus answered saying He was and what He was doing on this earth, speaking of His restoration plan.  Just as soon as He said He was, they found an old purple robe and put it on Him to mock Him. They put a crown of thorns on Him and punched it down hard.

5.      The antichrist in Revelation 18:16 is described as one clothed in fine linen and purple. It is interesting that all the princes of the Vatican or the Cardinals wear the official gown of that color. See Revelation 17:4.

6.      The purple cloth covering was laid over the altar of sacrifice when it was ported about. You see, the symbol is of what makes Jesus worthy to be king. He has authority to be our KING because He died to rescue us. He took our place, taking on our punishment so we could have eternal life.

7.      Jesus becomes our KING and remains forever as is described in Daniel 2 in the stone cut out without hands which broke down all the kingdoms of the world and set up His own kingdom which lasts forever

THESE COLORS IN THE DOOR

Represent Jesus and His standard. It describes His restoration plan. There is no other way but through Him for salvation.

AMAZING FACT:

The door to the outer court, the door to the holy place and the door to the most holy place were all of the same colors: red, blue, purple. Jesus was the Door that led into the courtyard for cleansing, Jesus was the door that led into the intercessory chamber, and Jesus was the Door that led into the Most Holy Place where also is the judgment room and the very holy presence of God.

Jesus said, “No man cometh to the Father but by me” John 14:6

In summary as one looks at the door: the red reminds of the price He paid with His life for our salvation. The blue reminds us of the unchangeable law of God. The purple tells us of His mercy and He is also King. His sacrifice gave Him qualify to be King.

In Revelation 4:1 pictures the door opened in Heaven. Through this door John saw thrones and a Mighty God upon His throne. The door must have been the door into the Most Holy Place where God’s throne is.

Jesus, the Lamb of God is the central theme of salvation. The entire sanctuary services are meaningless unless He is understood as the central figure. He died on the cross represented by the altar of sacrifice. The veil or door into the Most Holy Place was torn in two from top to bottom as He died.  By dying He made a new and living way. Luke 23:45  He opened to our under understanding the real qualities of our loving God and Father. He has opened the way for us to have a relationship. Only through Him can this be. He is the door.
Following in the footsteps of Jesus

Who’s footprints?

THE CROSS

In the sanctuary the furniture was placed in a pattern. If you drew a line from each article of furniture you could find the shape of the cross. It is all a description of all aspects of salvation. The sanctuary is the very best way to teach the complex picture of what God needed to do to bring this fallen world to salvation and restoration.

BRONZE: The altar of sacrifice

It was made of bronze.

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness. John 3:14

We focus on the laver in this session. It was made of the brass mirrors of the women in the children of Isreal.

An item once used to look into to paint their faces, now was used as a symbol of making the inside clean. This laver was filled with water and priests symbolically washed their hands and feet before serving in the temple. Their shoes were left outside the tabernacle showing reverence.

HISTORICAL MEANING of removing shoes:

What did God tell Moses to do when He talked to him from the burning bush?

“Take off your shoes”  the ground was holy.

REVERENCE for God

Well would it be for young and old to study and ponder and often repeat those words of the Holy Bible that show how the place marked by God's special presence should be regarded.   "Put off thy shoes from off thy feet," He commanded Moses at the burning bush, "for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground." Exodus 3:5.

Jacob, after beholding the vision of the angels, exclaimed, "The Lord is in this place; and I knew it not. . . . This is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven." Genesis 28:16, 17.

Another Bible writer speaks of the Holiness of the place where God meets with His people.   "The Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him." Habakkuk 2:20.

So now we have three aspects of the sanctuary to this point expressing our need for cleansing. As we come through the white outer court curtain we need the pure life of Jesus to cover our sins. We go to the altar seeking removal of sins which are then burned in symbol cleansing us of sin. Then after this request for forgiveness, we go to the laver and wash hands and feet. Every defilement must be taken from us in order to be in a very close walk with Jesus. We must not cling to some novel or movie and carry it in our hearts into the sanctuary. We must have Jesus cleanse us. Jesus is faithful to do this.

Look at the texts: Philippians   1:6   Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:

Remember, He says that if you commit yourself to Him, he is able to keep you.

2 Timothy  1:12   For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

1:13   Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

1:14   That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

Ezekiel 18:21   But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
NO DEFILEMENT must be left in our lives while approaching our Holy God.

So the priests were not to enter the sanctuary with shoes upon their feet. Particles of dust cleaving to them would desecrate the holy place. They were to leave their shoes in the court before entering the sanctuary, and also to wash both their hands and their feet before ministering in the tabernacle or at the altar of burnt offering. Thus was constantly taught the lesson that all defilement must be put away from those who would approach into the presence of God.  {PP 350.2}

All of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

What can we do to be saved?

We want to go inside His tabernacle into a closer walk with Him. What can we do to be permitted into this closer relationship with Him?

REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED

John the Baptist told all to prepare by repenting and being baptized. This cleansing is so important before you can enter a closer walk with God. It can be done in private but also needs to be done in public before witnesses declaring your decision which side you plan to be on.
Baptism is the public announcement of an inner decision and determination to follow JESUS no matter what the cost. This is your pledge to Jesus.

In turn, Jesus has a promise for you.

The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are present at the baptism. When the one baptizing says, in the name of the Father. Son, and the Holy Spirit, They are there watching. They promise that in any emergency in your future, they will personally be there to help. You are pledged the most powerful deliverance force of the universe in any emergency.
NEWBORNS

When a baby is born, what is the first thing the doctor is concerned about for that baby?

If the baby does not breathe, what happens?

A newly baptized person is a newborn in the Christian faith. It is very important they pray for prayer is the breath of the soul. It is your using the cell phone number to God. If you do not call on Him during emergencies, you are not asking for the help you need and you can die spiritually.
Next session deals with the altar of Incense and what it teaches us in how to pray.

Here are texts dealing with what you can do to be ready to be baptized. It is very simple. You must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and all He says in the Bible. When you are cleansed you must seek Him daily in prayer and Bible study or your first love will grow cold.

Make sure you study His word. This word has the power that brought this world into existence. It has the power to change you to be clean in your desires, habits of speaking, and living. Soon people will remark that they are closer to Jesus for having been with you. People can tell if you have spent time alone with God.

BIBLE  BAPTISM

A symbol of death, burial, and resurrection from sin.

Mathew 3:13-17 Jesus was baptized as an adult in Jordan

John 3:23 Bkiblical baptism takes much water

Mark 1:9, 10 Jesus went into and came up out of the water. He was fully immersed.

Acts 8:38 Both Philip and the eunuch entered the water. Philip baptized the eunuch by immersion.

Colossians 2:12  Burial with Christ through baptism

Romans 6:3-6  Baptism, a symbol of the resurrection, represents death and burial of the old life and emergence to new life in Jesus.

Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized.

Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized shall be saved.

Acts. 2:41, 42 They gladly received His word and were baptized. They continued steadfastly.

1 Cor. 12:13 Baptism is into the body or church. See also Acts 2:46 and 47.

Mathew 28:19 &20 Jesus gave authority to baptize only to His disciples who taught each aspect of truth as He commanded it. He commissioned His disciples teaching all of His commands to baptize. As the Holy Spirit impresses you to be baptized, seek a Sabbath-keeping church teaching all the commandments and all the Bible teachings. If they leave anything out, if they speak not according to the law and the testimonies, it is because there is no light in them. (Isaiah 8:20)

Acts 33:16

Arise and be baptized and wash away your sins.
WASHING FEET

What happens if after baptism, we fall into sin? What shall we do to be clean again? Jesus taught us what to do about this. He showed the disciples another kind of washing that was very similar to what the priests did in the tabernacle. Jesus washed the feet of His disciples and told them He wanted them to do this for each other. It would show that they were willing to serve each other and help each other on the path towards heaven.

In Bible times those walking in sandaled feet, on dusty roads, would be served by a servant as they came in to a room to gather and eat. No one remembered to arrange for that at the time of the last supper with His disciples, so Jesus took a towel and a water basin and did the work of a servant. It really troubled Peter. His pride made him hate to see his King Jesus doing the work of a servant and washing his feet. Jesus told him it was a very important part of cleansing of the soul.

•John 13:8   Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

13:9   Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also [my] hands and [my] head.

•John 13:10   Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash [his] feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

13:11   For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.

13:14   If I then, [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

13:15   For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

John 13:16   Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

13:17   If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

WATER OF LIFE

God is powerful enough to provide water out of the rock which served at least a million people and their flocks and herds.

CLEANSING WATER CARRIERS

You are my witnesses says the Lord.

As Isaiah says, we are witnesses of what the Lord can do. As we share our experiences, Jesus can use that to impress people with the Bible texts we have shared.

43:10   Ye [are] my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I [am] he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

43:11   I, [even] I, [am] the LORD; and beside me [there is] no saviour.

43:12   I have declared, and have saved, and I have showed, when [there was] no strange [god] among you: therefore ye [are] my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I [am] God.

43:13   Yea, before the day [was] I [am] he; and [there is] none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

WATER CARRIER

Story: In India we found the people carrying water for they did not have indoor plumbing. A man would be hired to carry water. We called it running water for we watched the man run with the water up the steps. He often put some roses in the water from the lady who gave the water to us daily.

This story is of a man who had this as his job. This water carrier in India used a long pole with a bucket on each end. One bucket leaked. He was embarrassed that by the time he reached his master’s home, there was not much water left in the one bucket. As he had spilled most of it on the way there. Yet on the path where he had been, flowers sprouted and made the way full of more hope and joy for others traveling the same path.

You may be embarrassed as you have problems in your life. Some think that they are unable to share as well anymore or have company because they are embarrassed that their husband is unfaithful or that a child is on drugs. If you are praying and reading your Bible your problems will be helped by Jesus and you will always have a witness for others. And even though it seems you are broken and spilled out, there are others traveling behind you on the path that see flowers where you thought your life was useless. They are enabled and empowered to go on as a result of your witness.

Every time Jesus washes you and cleanses you from sins along the path of life, your experience can be a help to others. No one is perfect.

There was one individual in Peru that was much disturbed because I asked a man to help carry the ark. She was well aware of his sins. She was angry that he was carrying the ark. We must be careful to understand that none of us are perfect. Jesus can clean all of us. We need to be patient with each other and help by the symbol of washing each other’s feet.

Though full of imperfections, we can share and show what God has done in our own lives. They overcame by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony.

You are God’s witnesses. So let it shine.

Revelation 12:11   And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Something Jesus did for me : My Witness of His power

PARTNER to preach the everlasting gospel

Partners when you are short of funds, God will provide it.  You need to empty your hands so you are not trying to help God out. Do all you can with enthusiasm but remember God likes to do the impossibilities.

STORY OF WHEN GOD MULTIPLIED WHAT I HAD

I was short the needed funds for purchasing India tickets to do the work there. I had only a short time left before the deadline and time could not be flexible for the agreed hour for meetings was fast arriving and people were making plans to attend.

I prayed and moved in faith, knowing God was going to do something.

He did. He did multiply what I had. The amount remaining was on its way to my post office. God gave me all that I needed. He is indeed a great partner.

STORY OF DISASTER

Where was God when my house burned down?

I tell this story to show that even though He is our partner, disaster can come. AT that point, God can show Himself strong for us. Daniel was in the Lion’s den when God delivered him. The 3 men were thrown into the hot furnace before God was walking there with them. So where was my heavenly Partner when my home burned down?  He was there.

There were so many things He did for us. We were given 3 options for shelter. We were given a vehicle, clothes, home, furniture. My God was there as Partner and never failed me.

POTATO MANNA

God can provide needed food not only for the worker, but the whole family!

I had this lesson over and over.

Remember when God sent manna to feed the Israelites? It was a time when all were hungry for the food they had carried was running out. They cried out to God. He sent some food from the sky. You can read the story in Exodus   16:14   And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness [there lay] a small round thing, [as] small as the hoar frost on the ground.

16:15   And when the children of Israel saw [it], they said one to another, It [is] manna: for they wist not what it [was]. And Moses said unto them, This [is] the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

16:16   This [is] the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, [according to] the number of your persons; take ye every man for [them] which [are] in his tents.

It was a time when my husband did not have enough to pay the bills. I had sold my business and was full time training missionaries and going all over the world sharing the gospel. I reminded God He promised in Malachi that we would have more than enough and we had empty cupboards. We were out of food.

There was a big truck full of potatoes from a farmers field that tipped over just down the street from where we live. The law says they cannot pick up spilled potatoes and sell them because the diesel fuel from the truck had contaminated the food and it was illegal to sell them. I found  boxes and filled them up and sniffed each one to make sure there was no fuel poisoning there for my children.

We had potatoes in every way we could think of for many months that winter.

He that is Mighty has done great things for me.

Psalms 37:25   I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

TASTE AND SEE that the Lord is Good.

Let us commit our lives to Him today.

REVIEW THE COURTYARD (150 by 75 feet)  or (50 meters by 25 meters)

Outer white curtain: symbol of the righteous clean pure life of Jesus. He wants to put His robe on us.

60 Brass Pillars

60 Brass Pillars were to hold the white curtains. Their hooks and bars for holding white curtains were of silver. (Exodus 27:9)

DOOR: GATE: was on the east. Jesus said, “I am the door”

ALTAR OF SACRIFICE: A symbol of Jesus. We lay our sins on the lamb which is also a symbol of Jesus and that was sacrificed on the altar of sacrifice. The altar was bronze.

LAVER: The shoes were left at the altar and they washed both hands and feet before ministering in the tabernacle or at the altar of burnt offering. This constantly taught the lesson that all defilement must be put away from those wanting to approach into the presence of God

I recommend that you make a partnership with Jesus today. Don’t wait. I have found such a precious Friend and Comforter in Jesus.

Won’t you let Him be your Lord and Master today?

Won’t you start planning on daily seeking first the kingdom of heaven?
